Afghanistan: On Monday, Afghan Army claimed that at least 21 Islamic State Khorasan (ISKP) group militants were killed and several weapons, ammunition and hideouts were destroyed in a drone strike in Khogyani district of Nangarhar.

According to ITCT’s reliable sources, Afghan Army’s claim is inaccurate. There were a total of two drone strikes in the Wazir Tangi area of Khogyani district, one targeting ISKP militants and the other targeting Taliban militants. The drone strikes were carried out during clashes between Taliban and ISKP. Almost two dozen militants of both groups were killed in the strikes. The strikes were carried out around Saturday night and Sunday morning.

UPDATE: ITCT has obtained exclusive images of some of the Taliban militants who died in the latest drone strikes in Khogyani, Nangarhar.
