Pakistan: On Monday, Hizbul Ahrar’s spokesperson Dr Aziz Yousafzai  released a statement claiming three IED blasts targeting Pakistani troops in Sheikh Baba area of district Safi of Mohmand Agency in KP province. According to Hizbul Ahrar, the blasts were carried out when Pakistani troops were on the move towards a location where a new check-post was meant to be constructed. Hizbul Ahrar statement says five Pakistani soldiers were killed while five others were wounded in the three blasts. Hizbul Ahrar has also announced a forthcoming video of the attack.

In another incident on Monday, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Noor Wali Mehsud group released a statement by its spokesperson Mohammad Khurasani, claiming two IED blasts targeting Pakistani troops in Barawal area of Upper Dir district in KP province. According to TTP statement, five Pakistani soldiers were killed and wounded in the attack.

There has been no official confirmation of the attacks by the Pakistani military so far.
