Afghanistan: Afghan Taliban released a detailed report on Tuesday, claiming a total of 820 defections of people working in various fields for the Kabul administration in the month of September 2018.

Taliban claim the defectors joined the Taliban along with their weapons, equipment and vehicles and vowed to severe all contact with “foreign and internal enemies”.

In another statement released by Taliban on Monday, Taliban claimed that 77 Afghan Army personnel have joined the Taliban along with their weapons and equipment in Qarqin district of northern Jawzjan province.

On Sunday, Taliban announced the defection of a policeman in Nooristan province and an Arbaki pro-government militant in Ghazni province.

Similarly, there are reports from Baghlan province that dozens of Afghan security personnel – soldiers and policemen – have joined the Taliban along with their weapons, equipment and vehicles.

A Taliban video from Baghlan shows dozens of Afghan security personnel pledging allegiance to the Taliban.
