Mogadishu: Twin bombings were reported in the same area of Mogadishu, Somalia on Saturday. One of the explosions reportedly targeted a vehicle belonging to Professor Yahye Amir, who is a university lecturer. Omar Sheikh Amir, brother of the university professor and prominent commentator Yahya Sheikh Amir, was killed in the explosion. The bomb was reportedly fitted to his vehicle, local security confirm.

The first explosion occurred close to the Olow Tower near Dabka junction while the second explosion occurred on the backside of Hotel Maka Al-Mukarama, according to eye witnesses.

No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the twin blasts.
